Policies and Procedures

The regularity of lessons and practice is important for good progress. The most vital element in learning a musical instrument is consistent practice! Set a goal with your kids of practicing a minimum of 20 minutes per day. A lesson without books is hard to teach! Be sure to remind your kids and yourself to bring all necessary learning materials to your lesson. E.g. music books, binders and spiral notebooks.

Tuition and Attendance

1.) Tuition is billed automatically every month to the card you have on file and includes one lesson per week. This will secure a weekly time on your teacher's schedule. Most months will have 4 lessons. Some will have 5 and some will have 3 (during the holidays). This does not affect the monthly rate. 2.) Tuition is not adjusted for missed or canceled lessons. If you're late to a lesson, don't worry! The remainder of the lesson time will be used for your lesson. 3.) No student should attend lessons when sick (i.e. fever, nausea, vomiting, etc). Jacaranda Music Studios reserves the right to dismiss a student from a scheduled lesson if the student arrives at that lesson exhibiting symptoms of illness. In this case, a make-up lesson will not be offered. 4.) Students are allowed one make-up lesson per instrument within the calendar month. Please give us at least 24 hours notice. Any cancellations received on the day of the lesson can't be rescheduled or refunded. (In the cases of family emergencies or sudden illness, exceptions can be made.) 5.) In the occasional event of a teacher's absence, we will provide a substitute teacher. If a substitute cannot be secured, we will notify you by email and/or phone and a make-up lesson will be given. This won't count towards your monthly make-up lesson. 6.) Lessons cannot be discontinued in the middle of a billing cycle. 7.) To suspend or discontinue lessons and payments, a withdrawal form must be submitted 14 days before your next bill date.

Holidays

For private lessons our holiday plan ensures 48 lessons per calendar year (48 ÷ 12 = 4 lessons/month). There are no lessons on the following holidays: * Thanksgiving (Monday - Friday) - No Make-Up Lesson) * Winter Break (Two weeks - No Make-Up Lesson) * Spring Break (One week - No Make-Up Lesson) * Memorial Day (No Make-Up Lesson) * Labor Day (Make-Up Lesson will be given) * Independence Day (Make-Up Lesson will be given)

Agreement

I understand and agree to the terms of the agreement above for services of private music lessons given by Jacaranda Music Studios and will abide by the terms of this agreement.

Photography and Media

I grant Jacaranda Music Studios full rights to use the images resulting from the photography/video filming, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the group’s aims. This might include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications.

I do not grant Jacaranda Music Studios image and media rights.
